Porlock, Somerset 'Click on the thumbnail to see the full-size picture, then use your Web browser's Back button to return to this page' Porlock is a quintessential Somerset village that nestles in the arms of the Somerset Moors. Porlock lies at the intersection of the moors and coast and is perfect for walkers to explore this special region. One of the finest sections of the SW Coastal Way is over the dramatic cliff tops and into the hidden bays of the north Devon and Somerset coastlines. There are also a myriad of 'rides' through the many wooded valleys that cradle intriguing hamlets and reward the walkers with rich cream teas. By contrast the wide open heather moorland with dramatic rocky tors (interesting weathered glacial formations) are home to the red deer and ponies which epitomise the Exmoor National Park. |
