Typical Scrambling Programme: This is an excellent opportunity to try some of the more exciting routes in the Lake District. Scrambling is best defined as ascending rock that is not difficult or steep enough to warrant the term Rock-Climbing. Scrambles often offer an interesting route to the summit that provides some excitement and can get you away from the crowds.

To enjoy this holiday, you must have had some experience of scrambling, a good head for heights and be reasonably fit. In addition to completing the scramble, we will also be covering up to 12 miles a day with up to 3,500ft of ascent.

The first day we will get out on the fells and try some relatively simple scrambles to allow everyone to practise their skills. Over the following days we should progress onto some of the classic scrambles of the Lakes, threading the needle and Sphinx Ridge on Gable, Skew Ghyll on Great End and Lords' Rake and Easy Gully on Scafell. There is plenty of great scrambling to be had, let's just hope that we get the weather.

Why not give it a try; if you find it is not for you, you can always switch onto the walking group who will also be about. Or please contact us if you want to chat about it!
