Saturday Meet at the boot room, by the car at 9.45am. To warm up we will enjoy a gentle stroll down the lane towards Hope before making our way across the valley. The Roman road gradually ascends over the broad flank of Winhill Pike, a wonderful viewpoint overlooking Ladybower Reservoir and the surrounding valleys. Ahead the broad ridge stretches out above Edale and onto Crookstone Knoll, at the end of the Kinder plateau. Skirting around the moor, brings us to Ringing Roger, before the descending into Edale village for a pub stop and lunch. After lunch we will meander our way back along the valley, through Jaggers’ Clough and back to the house.

10 miles (16 km) 1,500 ft (470m) ascent

Sunday From the centre, we will make an ascent of Loose Hill, the hill you can see from the dinning room. Although the ascent is quite steep it leads quickly to the summit and has some wonderful views across the surrounding valleys and hills. Ahead a broad ridge stretches out and the path meanders through the delightful limestone countryside. We will follow the ridge along to Hollins Cross, before descending to the honey pot village of Castleton. (However, if time permits we may be able to continue over MamTor –the quaking mountain.) After a pause in Castleton for some refreshments the walk continues along the streamside paths and back to Hope Village.
