Keswick is the most beautiful and idyllic market town in the Lake District. Its quaint streets are full of interest with traditional shops, museums and cafés. The whole area is of historical interest and a further few minutes walk through pleasant gardens brings you to the shores of Derwent Water, often called ‘The Lady of the Lakes’. Ideal for those lazy evening strolls.   All these features combine to produce Keswick's wonderful atmosphere.

Since Victorian times walkers have been enjoying the excellent variety that this destination offers.  Immediately on the doorstep lies Derwent Water the 'Lady of Lakes' with its intriguing web of woodland and lakeshore footpaths.  Many of the walks can be accessed directly or you can utilise the cruise boats to start your walk.

The softer ridges which surround the valley always tempt the eye to the distant vistas.  Similarly, the walker is drawn on to the lower fells of Walla Crag, Catbells and Latrigg.  But this is only half the story as beyond lie the higher fells of Maiden Moor, Bleaberry Fell and High Spy.  A turn of the head and the classics of Blencathra and Skiddaw appear, providing further challenges.
