Pitlochry is an excellent base to explore this delightful district. This highland town is the gateway to the highlands and blends its Victorian heritage with all the modern day services. A gentle stroll through the town will bring you to the dam and fish ladder or the Blair Athol or Edradour Distilleries. To keep you entertained the world famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre has a comprehensive diary of events and the Pass of Killiecrankie Visitor Centre and Blair Castle are just up the road.

The famous countryside has so much to offer has many different aspects to offer the walker. The salmon rich rivers and waterfalls flow through narrow tree lined gorges and into the lochs and reservoirs of the broad river valleys. The vast network of footpaths lead through this inviting lowland scenery and onto the open hills beyond, the alpine nature reserves of Ben Lawers and the peoples favourite Schiehallion.
