Saas Fee
, at 1800m is sure to impress, sitting with stunning scenery all around and in
an adjacent valley to the famous
Matterhorn

Impressive Walking:
Up in the realm of the four thousand metre peaks (13,000ft) the sun-drenched
Saas
Fee
Valley
welcomes you with its high altitude trails and a lovely mild climate.
Set amongst meadows, within a crescent of huge glacial mountains, yes…
Saas Fee enjoys a very dramatic location. Everywhere
you turn, the eye is invariably raised to dazzling snow ridges and summits, but
below the massifs lie slopes brushed with bilberry, juniper, wild flowers and
just under 200 miles of fascinating tracks and paths.
There are so many classic walks we are spoilt with mountains tarns, lifts
and cable cars plus we hope to do a day trip to the
Zermatt
Valley
as well.
Remember with two walks to choose from every day, you can either take it
easy, walking 7-9 miles with around 1500ft of ascent, or push yourself a little,
doing 10-13 miles with around 3000ft ascent (most hard walks require a good head
for heights).
The Hotel:
The hotel Dom is a funky three star hotel with a staggering reputation (6 out of
6) from the Swiss Tourist office in the categories of service, catering and
rooms. Enjoying its location at the
top of the mountain it is well equipped and offers a sauna after a hard days
walking plus all rooms have Satellite TV; Sony Hifi Stereo System, CD / MD,
Telephone,
Bath
or Shower/WC plus a balcony and even a Sony
Play station (we told you it was funky).
NB: Travel Insurance is mandatory for this holiday.
