Spice was established 35 years ago in Manchester and now has groups in nine major cities with hundreds of members nationwide. Each franchise is run by full time Co-ordinators with many years experience in organising group adventure, social and leisure activities and the monthly programme of events is set up with the absolute beginner in mind. As most members attend events on their own, Spice puts great emphasis on ensuring that people feel welcome and at ease when they arrive at events. So who joins Spice? People of all ages (over 18) from all backgrounds, from surgeons to solicitors, single mums to students, extraverts and introverts, singles and couples alike. What they all have in common is a desire to live life to the full, try new activities, meet new people and enjoy themselves whatever the circumstances. Spice is the adventure/social group for people who want to get more out of life, have more fun and friendship, more adventure and excitement - with members from all walks of life as varied as are people, all united in one common purpose of enjoying life to the full!
The full event programme is available through the local websites, and a Spice newsletter also drops regularly through the letter box to invite the members to the coming events and keep them up to date. The costs of the events vary, but are usually cheaper (or better value) than the public price due to group discounts and exclusive Spice deals.
Members select the events they wish to attend (either from their Newsletter or the Web) and then book with their local office. There is no obligation to do a minimum number of events so it’s entirely up to you how many events you attend. You will soon discover that its fun to try anything once with Spice, as our emphasis is always on having fun as part of a group, whatever we are doing.
