A long way south for us this one, but the combination of the South Downs, the seven sisters, beach head ( see photos), not to mention some great pubs, "friendly " tea shops and some great people makes it all worth while A nice relaxing weekend in the south thats what we thought!!!
Friday worked out very well and the ground was surprisingly dry and we found some lovely new routes. So friday was going well which was omnous!!! Terry our other guide nearly didnt make it, someone had loosened all his wheel nuts so he was very very lucky to make it down in one piece, so he turned up a bit shook up undestandably!!!
Fortunately all the clients had a much less traumatic arrival and there were lots of smiley faces in the bar when I walked in! Saturday then dawned, and after the bad weather forecast we were expecting the worst, but it was fine and we had a lovely dry start and morning-hurray!!! Then it was over the seven ups and downs of the seven sisters then a quick cafe break before another 3 ups and downs over beachy head, then a pub! lovely beer too! Then a good giggle listening to Beryls stories over afternoon tea! And sunday was even better, blue skies accompanied us down the valley, and we lunched enjoying Des lynams' favouite view...perfect! Unfortunately a the perfect day was about to throw us a curve ball. Just as thoughts were turning to afternoon tea, and the lovely smuggling pubs of Alfriston, a lady took a tumble and here leg went crack. A paramedic, an ambulance and 4 strong men & Madi performed a little evacuation, and she was plastered by the end of the night!!!
....Not quite what she had in mind!!!!
